Oakwell December 2004

In December 2004 the Fairfax Battalia brought Oakwell Hall, Yorkshire to life for a 'family at home' at Christmas 1653.  Festivities were actually restrained as the Christmas holiday in London and Middlesex had been banned by Act of Parliament and there was a small army garrison in the village. Instead, every day life continued, including a  cases that came before the 'vestry court'.  See also Page 6 of 'Fairfax People'.
