The
Fairfax Battalia |

The Fairfax Battalia. is a re-enactment group which recreates military and civilian life of the 17th century, based around a company of soldiers from the period of the English Civil War (1642-1651). We recreate a 17th century infantry company based on Sir Thomas Fairfax's New Model Army regiment (1st Regiment of Foot) c.1645. We can, however, also present other periods of the English Civil War era as required - including 1642 Trained Bands and the Restoration army of 1660. We try to place the military events within their context and show the impact of the wars on civilian life. As part of this, we can 're-populate' period houses with a full household from the gentry owners to their servants. Our dedication to producing quality interpretations of military & domestic situations has won us a high reputation amongst sponsors, public & academics. Further, we have obtained an excellent record of working with event organisers, TV companies and other
sponsors in a thoroughly professional yet friendly manner. |
