The Soldier's Snapsack Opened

The Civil War soldier carried all of his possessions in a 'snapsack' on his back. This was supposed to carry up to three day's rations together with whatever spare clothes he had managed to acquire. It also contained everyday items such as eating utensils, games,  tinder and match.
